🌿 What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is an ancient sister science to yoga that focuses on maintaining balance in the body through three main pillars: food, sleep, and life force energy. When these are supported, the body feels good, digestion works well, and we have more natural energy throughout the day.

🌱 What is an Ayurvedic cleanse?

When we hear the word “cleanse,” we often think only of detoxing. However, detoxing without nourishment can leave the body depleted. An Ayurvedic cleanse is designed to gently detoxify while also replenishing and nourishing the system. It generally includes five to seven days of kitchari, along with two days of gentle preparation before and three days of post-cleanse integration afterward.

🧡 What is Kitchari?

Kitchari is a highly regarded Indian dish made with mung beans and rice, which together form a complete protein and is all the nutrients the body needs. Mung beans are a type of yellow split bean, similar to lentils. By adding digestive spices, ghee, and vegetables, you can customize each batch to suit your preferences.

🐣 How does it work?

The goal is to give the digestive system a rest, allowing the body to redirect energy toward deeper cleansing. White rice is one of the easiest foods to digest. Eating a mono-diet of kitchari helps the body become accustomed to its composition, thereby reducing digestive effort. Mung beans act like a gentle scrubbing agent to help clear buildup in the digestive tract, while ghee binds with fat-soluble toxins and helps carry them out of the body.

🦄 Why cleanse together?

Doing the cleanse with others greatly boosts your chances of success. It provides accountability, support, and a chance to learn from each other. Watching others stay committed and make progress inspires us to keep going. Instead of doing it alone, the group provides a space to support and encourage each other.

🌸What can I expect?

During the cleanse, it’s normal to feel a bit sluggish or have lower energy, and you might also notice emotional toxins surfacing. This is a natural and healthy part of the process. You may find yourself needing more rest than usual, so listen to your body and make space for slowing down. At the same time, you should still be able to go about your normal daily activities, as long as they aren't too strenuous. Be gentle with yourself and avoid overexertion, maintaining a balance between productivity and rest. Remember, the goal of this cleanse is to support your body, not to deprive it, so you should never feel weak, dizzy, or lightheaded.

🌼 What if these dates don’t fit your schedule?

This is totally fine, you can do the cleanse a little earlier or later, but if possible, I strongly encourage you to cleanse with the group. Let me know if you are choosing different dates so I can help accommodate you. Note, this course will only be available until May 31, 2026.

🌺 What are some contraindications?

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, or underweight, this cleanse is not suitable for you right now. If you catch a cold or the flu, it’s best to wait until you’re fully recovered before starting.
